Summer Running Haiku Contest Winner!

A big thank you to everyone who submitted a summer running haiku for our first blog contest! I enjoyed reading all of the entries, and, from what I can tell, you all enjoyed procrastinating productively writing haikus.

Are you ready for it? Our winner is…

Melinda!

Her winning haiku was:

“Running dilemma
Relief from lawn sprinkler but
keep GPS dry”

I, for one, have struggled with this dilemma many times, usually choosing to take my chances with the GPS. And damn if Seoul doesn’t have any yards with sprinklers/hoses/kiddie pools/bird baths. I’m pretty sure Garmin does a decent job waterproofing its products, so, for my sake, get out there and frolic in those sprinklers.

Congratulations, Melinda! You can claim your prize at Body N’ Sole. Unfortunately, I can’t congratulate you face-to-face, so I’m giving you a photo instead. I’m almost 100% sure that this is what I would look like congratulating you in real life:

Because ukuleles make everything better, right?

To all other entrants, thanks again for submitting your poems! I hope to host another contest in the future (Tell Jed/leave a comment about how fun this was!), so keep your eyes open and your creativity flowing.

But for now, stay cool and keep running*!

*Except, I have to admit, I haven’t been running much myself these days. Seoul summer has broken my spirit. Perhaps I will write a post about low mileage anxiety soon.

Yeah, thank you so much! I have friends in Seoul right now and if it wasn’t a city of a gajillion people (that’s a word, right?), I’d have them thank you face-to-face for me. :)
    Thanks, again!!

    Oh, and also:
Yes, ukeleles do make everything better.
